I didn't know Devi still exists as the last time I saw a movie there was in 1975!!!

The Les Miserables version I recommended is the 1982 Robert Hossein's version with Lino Ventura in the lead. I saw it on 'TV5 Monde' and it had English subtitlesJugu Abrahamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03168705724665556320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33415680.post-20176987560047279302012-08-01T20:38:38.891+05:302012-08-01T20:38:38.891+05:30Well, I have some pleasant memories of the city as...Well, I have some pleasant memories of the city as I got to see some very good movies during my short stay including Nolan's Inception which I watched in the 1000 seater Devi Cinema Hall, but I never knew that the city had such amazing facilities back in the 70s that screened such esoteric esoteric movies. Incredible! Now, I will try to locate the movie... will get back to you for a better insight once I am through watching it. Btw, I have managed to locate the French version of Les Miserables (from youtube before they removed it) that you had once recommended but unfortunately I don't have the English subtitles. Is there a way to find a print with English subs?Murtaza Ali Khanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09747183316188241022noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33415680.post-70131481236478494412012-08-01T19:36:37.429+05:302012-08-01T19:36:37.429+05:30Pollack's Castle Keep is a gem. In glorious 70mm 6-track sound with hardly fifty persons in the hall. I rate this surrealist film as one of the finest anti-war films ever made. None of Pollack's later films can match this one and surprisingly most critics tend to ignore itJugu Abrahamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03168705724665556320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33415680.post-64105928151021869342012-08-01T15:38:49.827+05:302012-08-01T15:38:49.827+05:30Once again I have been greatly benefited by your r...Once again I have been greatly benefited by your review. It has helped me get a better insight into the movie. While I have heard a lot of The Conversation, your review has made me aware of Castle Keep, The Parallax View, and Night Moves. Thanks a lot, sir for expanding my movie vocabulary :-)Murtaza Ali Khanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09747183316188241022noreply@blogger.com
