I had wanted to watch it in tandem with Get Carter and Point Blank--the other two Gangster flicks that you speak highly of--but, as they say, it's better late than never. I must say that just like the other two films I enjoyed it thoroughly. Your fantastic film analysis obviously helped me to get a better hold of it. It's indeed amazing how three Frears films--The Hit, along with the other two that you have discussed above--unconsciously seem to tackle the same subject of duality.
